What makes a facility accessible?

The IFI assist leisure facilities in improving their level of inclusion by providing advice and support in a number of areas; fitness equipment, staff training, access in and around the facility and the way the facility markets itself. The term access relates to how people use facilities and communicate with staff. An accessible facility is not necessarily an inclusive facility. Facilities need to ensure their whole service considers disabled and non-disabled people. Facilities that are awarded with IFI accreditation have thought about how people use their facility and have made it easier to use for everyone.
