Inclusive Fitness Week (IFW) aims to raise awareness of both the principles of the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) in addition to increasing participation at accredited inclusive fitness facilities.
Across the region leisure and fitness facilities are embracing Inclusive Fitness Week (IFW). Promoting the awareness of the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) through a range of activities and events. Aldersley Leisure Village, Wolverhampton is holding an Open Day on Wednesday 30th April. Alison Compton, Facility Manager comments:
‘We have been an accredited IFI site for 3 years. We are extremely excited to be part of such an exciting and innovative project. Our facilities here at Aldersley offer an inclusive fitness experience to all. We aim to increase the number of local people taking part in physical activity raising their health and fitness levels. The whole of our site will be open to the general public to come along, and have-a-go.’
Other IFI sites in the region supporting Inclusive Fitness Week include Bedworth Leisure Centre, Warwickshire offering an inclusive taster day on Monday 28th April 2008. They are linking their day into the Healthy Living Initiative where the site will launch inclusive activity sessions for the proceeding weeks.
Also participating in IFW are Wyre Forest Leisure Centre hosting Gym Tours and a Coffee Morning for their local community on Tuesday 29th April 10am-12noon. Similarly Moseley School Heath Fitness Centre, Birmingham is offering gym tours and refreshments on site between 9am-3pm on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April 2008.
