Phoenix Fitness Centre and Janet Adegoke Swimming Pool, located in White City, will be hosting an open day on Thursday 24 April to celebrate National Inclusive Fitness Week, which runs from Thursday 24 April to Wednesday 30th April 2008.
In 2007, the leisure centre was awarded Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) accreditation, making the centre more accessible for people with disabilities. All IFI accredited leisure centres across London will be part of the national awareness week, and open their doors to the public.
The IFI Open Day at Phoenix Fitness Centre & Janet Adegoke Swimming Pool will run from 2.00pm-8.00pm and offer several activities including: fitness centre taster sessions, swimming and group exercise sessions. Sessions will be free to people with disabilities and carers providing supervision, allowing the opportunity for everyone to enjoy getting active.
Marie O’Loughlin, General Manager for Phoenix stated,
‘The centre is looking forward to the open day to promote the centre’s IFI accreditation to people that can really benefit. New disability sessions are also being piloted on the day, which will only add to the service provided. We look forward to seeing you on the day!’
