Riverside Ice and Leisure are having a Disability Family Fun Day on Saturday 10th May 2008. The facility is IFI accredited, making it accessible to all. The event is held with support from Sports Development and Arts Development Units.
The Day will give children, adults and families with a wide range of disabilities the opportunity to “come and try” new sports, arts, dance and other interactive activities.
The day starts at 11am and finishes at 6pm. For participants it is £2, carers free. Everyone participating is encouraged to register in advance however registration WILL be allowed on the day. Local clubs and volunteers are involved in running this event in order help draw in all members of the community.
The week following the Fun Day free inductions will be offered to all of those who want to enjoy physical activity on a more regular basis within the IFI accredited facility.

“Our annual Disability Family Fun Day is a fantastic day. It provides an opportunity for disabled people and their families to come and try a wide range of activities they might not usually get the chance to do. Whether it’s football, table tennis or arts and crafts, we have something for everyone. It is also a great chance for people to come and meet other families who share the same experiences in life. Overall, it’s all about having fun and enjoying themselves which is our aim”.
