The criteria against which facilities applying for the IFI Mark will be judged are split into 7 areas:
- Access –the organisation’s level of physical access to the fitness suite area in relation to current best practice and guidance
- Fitness equipment –the amount of IFI accredited fitness equipment
- Staff training –the level of training staff within the organisation
- Inclusive marketing –how effectively the organisation communicates with disabled people
- Monitoring –how well the organisation understands their current customer base
- Other physical activity opportunities –what other opportunities are available to disabled people
- Policies –the organisational policies and procedures deemed relevant to equal access
- Gym Programming –how features such as inductions impact upon the service provided
