Applicant organisations will be guided through the following process in order to achieve accreditation:
Stage 1 Resource Pack – Sent to site representative detailing the process, providing relevant information and advice to support the path to accreditation as an Inclusive Fitness Facility.
Stage 2 First Site Visit - An IFI consultant will visit the facility to provide an introduction to the programme and to begin an analysis of the facility and the service offered. This visit will also include:
- A full facility access audit
- A management briefing
Stage 3 Action Plan – Following the delivery of the access audit at the first site visit, all facilities will be presented with a specific action plan, detailing what must be achieved in order to attain the various levels associated with the IFI Mark. All identified issues (provisional level) must be completed by the facility within six months of receipt of the action plan.
Stage 4 Follow Up Visit – Six months after receipt of the action plan a follow up visit will take place. This is to assess the issues identified within the action plan, and respond to any additional issues that may have arisen.
Stage 5 Accreditation – After the follow up visit, facilities should expect to receive accreditation as an Inclusive Fitness Facility. This is subject to satisfying the issues identified within the facility action plan. Accreditation lasts for a period of two years.
Stage 6 Ongoing liaison and Support – Your dedicated IFI consultant will liaise with you in a variety of areas including: booking of training, data collection and satisfying outstanding issues on your action plan.
Stage 7 Mystery Visit - Between month nine and fifteen of accreditation, a mystery visit will be arranged. This will be conducted by a disabled person and will result in a report analysing an element of your provision. Facilities will be provided with the results of this visit.
Throughout this process, applicant facilities will be able to call upon the advice of a dedicated consultant, to support the implementation of their action plan. Organisations will be advised who their contact is upon application.
